In a realm of fated destruction and violence, there is a day every year where the palace is left unguarded: a cunning game to murder the monarch and take the throne for yourself; if you can maintain it till midnight, that is. But this year, the queen is skilled, a vengeful woman out for blood after the assassination of her mother years before. Asteria has trained her whole life for this position, coming from the trenches of poverty she’ll stop at nothing to get to the throne.
